Darcy Holm, Registered Mental Health Intern
Darcy is currently a Registered Mental Health Intern, having graduated from the Mental Health Counseling program at FAU in May 2018. She has been working in the mental health and substance abuse field for the last six years. She has experience working with children, teens, and adults in both inpatient and outpatient settings. Darcy has worked extensively with DBT over the last four years and completed a four-semester internship at The Delray Center before coming on as a full-time therapist.
Darcy’s approach to therapy can be described as experiential and creative; she believes clients deserve to be given the space to explore themselves and process their challenges in whichever manner facilitates the greatest success. She strives to give each client individualized care as she believes no two people can ever be treated the same. Darcy works hard to bring her knowledge, skillset, and training into each session, meeting clients in their pain and guiding them to their best selves and ultimately helping them build a life worth living.
Darcy facilitates groups which incorporate Gestalt theory, DBT, CBT, and psychodynamic theory with plans to incorporate exposure-based and adventure-based counseling in her practice at DCH. She truly enjoys all that life has to offer and incorporates everything she practices into her personal well-being and routine, never asking clients to do things she herself would not do. Darcy believes in cultivating an atmosphere of mutual respect between therapist and client and aims to make her clients feel heard, seen, and helped.
