Why Does The Delray Center for Healing Offer Harmonial Biofeedback?

Not many people are familiar with harmonial biofeedback so the question, why does The Delray Center for Healing offer Harmonial Biofeedback is probably prefaced with, what is harmonial biofeedback?

Defined as an interactive stress management program designed to provide deep and lasting relaxation through stabilization and balancing of the central nervous system, it’s unique approach is designed to gauge one’s receptivity to various shades and colors of light using biofeedback.  Why does The Delray Center for Healing offer harmonial biofeedback?  Keep reading to find out!

Harmonial biofeedback can and in this case is used as a supplement to traditional medical treatment to enhance homeopathy and acupuncture to improve the overall state of well-being.  The body and psyche have a permanent balance; everything negative in one’s life is felt physical and psychologically, leading to stress and depression and causing cerebral hemispheres to unbalance thus changing day to day behavior.

Additionally, mood disorders, anxiety, depression and stress can result in physical challenges such as fatigue or sleep problems.  The specific colors and sounds provided to you are in response to your answers to the questionnaire and reaction to the color test, helping to balance the you within your environment.

The visual, auditory and aromatic stimulation you experience is intended to alleviate stress and/or anxiety by relaxing the stimulating the brain, thereby correcting any neurophysical imbalances.  Utilizing auditory, visual and aromatic sequences help reduce the levels of stress and/or anxiety.

So why does The Delray Center for Healing offer harmonial biofeedback?  I think the better question is why aren’t all treatment centers around the world incorporating it into their treatment plans?  Who wouldn’t want an opportunity to participate in a forward thinking therapy program that helps the way you feel on a day-to-day basis, reduces stress and improves your quality of life?

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Outpatient Treatment

If you’re looking for eye move desensitization and reprocessing outpatient treatment, you’ve come to the right place.  Conveniently located in South Florida, The Delray Center for Healing currently offers eye movement desensitization and reprocessing outpatient treatment for those individuals suffering from many types of psychological distress.

A relatively new, yet powerful technical, eye movement desensitization and reprocessing outpatient treatment was developed to help people come to terms with overwhelming or traumatic life experience.  Today, it is estimated, that eye movement desensitization and reprocessing outpatient treatment has helped close to two million people.

When you become upset, the brain cannot process information in the way that it does normally.  An overwhelming moment can become frozen in time, resulting in the memory of a trauma feeling as badly as going through it the first time.  This includes experiencing the same sounds, smells, sensations, thoughts and feelings.  Such memories which have a lasting negative effect on people interfere with the way one sees the world and how they relate to others.

Eye movement desensitization and reprocessing outpatient treatment can have a direct effect on the way that the brain processes memories.  With normal information processing resuming following successful eye movement desensitization and reprocessing session, one no longer relives the experience and related emotions when the event is brought up.  Although you will still remember what happened, the experience becomes less unsettling and allows the brain to finally process and integrate the event that was once froze and frees you to move forward with your life.

If you, or someone you know, are struggling with psychological distress and you believe he or she would benefit from eye movement desensitization and reprocessing outpatient treatment, contact The Delray Center for Healing today.  You can start feeling better sooner than you think if you simply take the first step is asking for help.

Equine-Assisted Therapy Recovery

Equine-assisted therapy, sometimes referred to as therapeutic riding, originated in Germany.  Originally it was used to treat those individuals suffering from orthopedic dysfunctions, such as scoliosis as well as to help those suffering from disabilities learn riding skills.  Today however, adults and children who present with any sort of cognitive, emotional and/or physical conditions have been known to utilize equine-assisted therapy in recovery from these illnesses/conditions.

Many people mistake equine-assisted therapy the process in which one learns how to ride a horse.  This is not the case however.  As a result of being used over the last many years as part of behavioral treatment for troubled individuals, it is not being used to assist those struggling with eating disorders and other mental diseases.

On a non-scientific level, equine-assisted therapy recovery grants those suffering with an eating disorder, or any other type of emotional or mental disorder, with the kind of unconditional acceptance they long for.  Horses do not judge people based on appearance so long as you’re kind and respectful to the animal, they are the same to you.  In many cases, this type of acceptance is often the first step in the recovery process.  Equine-assisted therapy recovery helps one begin to process the unconditional acceptance from the horse and thereby, begin to learn how to unconditionally accept his or herself.

In addition to learning unconditional acceptance from the horse and oneself, equine-assisted therapy recovery often involves caring for the horse; working with a therapist to help groom, exercise and feed the animal.  A healthy diet is an essential component in keeping anyone, man or animal, in good condition, so this is an excellent and indirect way to help someone relearn the importance of eating.  As a result, conversations regarding healthy diet and exercise for the horse can provoke talking about the same needs in humans.

The Delray Center for Healing offers equine-assisted therapy recovery along with many other therapies for a variety of disorders.  If you or someone you know is in need of assistance, seek help today.

The Importance of Couple and Family Therapy in Outpatient Treatment Programs

Couple and family therapy is a branch of psychotherapy that works with both families and/or couples in intimate relationships learn how to nurture change (in the terms of systems of interaction between family members) and development.  Couple and family therapy emphasizes family relationships as an important factor in overall psychological health.

The importance of couple and family therapy in outpatient treatment programs cannot be overlooked.  Whether you, or a loved one, are seeking outpatient treatment for drug or alcohol abuse or eating disorders, it is an essential part in recovery.

Depending on which school of thought you go with, the one thing they all have in common is the belief that family therapy, regardless of the origin of the problem and regardless of whether the clients consider it an individual or family issue, involving family members in the solution is often beneficial.  This is commonly accomplished by their direct participation in a therapy session.

Couple and family therapy has been used effectively in the full range of human dilemmas; there is no category of relationship or psychological problem that has not been addressed with this approach.  This is why the importance of couple and family therapy in outpatient treatment programs is stressed within The Delray Center for Healing.

Couple and family therapy uses a range of counseling and other techniques, including but not limited to:

  • Communication theory
  • Psychotherapy
  • Relationship Education
  • Systems therapy

Although the numbers of sessions are dependent upon the situation, on average one can expect to participate in anywhere from five to twenty sessions.  By meeting with several members of the family at the same time, the advantage lies in being able to make differences between the ways family members perceive mutual relations as well as interaction patterns.

The importance of couple and family therapy in outpatient treatment programs such as The Delray Center for Healing cannot be stressed enough.  You and your family members will benefit from this on your road to recovery.
