Nicole Friedman, Psy.D.

Dr. Friedman is a State of Florida licensed psychologist at the Delray Center for Healing.

Dr. Friedman has been a licensed psychologist in the State of Florida for the past eight years. She received her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Florida in 1995, and her Master of Science in Psychology and Doctor of Psychology degrees from Nova Southeastern University. Dr. Friedman went on to complete her doctoral internship at South Florida’s Nova Southeastern University’s Community Mental Health Center, where she focused her studies in the areas of trauma resolution and general adult practice. Thereafter, she obtained a residency at Jackson Memorial Hospital, where she received extensive training and research experience in dealing with children and adolescents suffering from chronic medical conditions. Dr. Friedman subsequently returned to Broward County, where she obtained a position as a staff psychologist for the Broward County Court Psychology Program where she conducted parenting evaluations in both dependency and family court cases. Thereafter, she went on to develop a successful and thriving practice in the area of forensic psychology. She recently joined the Delray Center for Healing where she works with adult individuals, couples, and families utilizing a caring, compassionate and integrated therapy approach designed specifically to meet the needs of each client.

Dr. Friedman has several years of experience working with individuals and groups to enhance their overall emotional functioning. Her myriad of experiences in residential, correctional, medical and community based settings provide her with the research, training and practical experience needed to successfully treat a diverse range of cases. Her clinical areas of expertise include, substance addiction, depression, anxiety, eating disorders, trauma, domestic violence and relational psychotherapy. Dr. Friedman also specializes in the area of forensic psychology where she has assessed thousands of defendants with chronic and severe mental illness both within the juvenile and adult system. Her forensic expertise includes competency to stand trial evaluations, sanity evaluations, mitigation work, death penalty evaluations, custody evaluations, parenting evaluations, and malingering. Dr. Friedman has been qualified as an expert witness hundreds of times and she has been frequently appointed or hired as a consultant or forensic expert by attorneys and judges in the local area.
