Equine Assisted Therapy is a form of experiential therapy that helps people learn about themselves, recognize dysfunctional behavior patterns, and build healthy relationships with appropriate boundaries. The trained horses are neutral in both expectations and motives, helping clients become more aware of their emotional state through natural reactions to their behavior. As clients continue to interact with the animal, they gain valuable insight into the relationship between their internal feelings and outward actions.
At the Delray Center for Healing, Equine-Assisted Therapy can be a beneficial part of a comprehensive treatment regimen. To participate, clients must be actively engaged in group and individual therapy.
The Doctors and Therapists have been very caring and helpful. They make time for me if I’m having an issue that needs to be addressed immediately. They have helped me overcome my addiction to opiates. Been 14 months since I last used. Overall, my experience with the Delray Center has been excellent. I would give the entire staff here a “10” for their caring and their ability to help people in need. — Seth, Boynton Beach
