Intensive DBT PHP Program

At the Delray Center for Healing, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is the clinical foundation for all our therapeutic programming. For DBT candidates looking for more intensive or comprehensive form of DBT therapy, the Delray Center offers a DBT-centric partial hospitalization (PHP) program at our Delray Beach, Florida location. This program is appropriate for those with treatment-resistant Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD). Other appropriates participants include those with mood & anxiety disorders, dual diagnosis clients, complex trauma and PTSD, and primary or co-occurring eating disorders.

About Our DBT PHP Program

The comprehensive outpatient DBT Program combines rigorous Dialectical Behavior Therapy with the other outpatient mental health services available at our center. Every program and treatment plan is crafted specifically for the client based on a thorough psychiatric evaluation. Programs vary based on the evaluation, but typically include:

  • Individual DBT skills coaching
  • Family therapy
  • DBT Skills Group
  • Mindfulness & meditation
  • Psychiatry & medication management
  • Neurofeedback therapy
  • Yoga
  • Acupuncture & massage therapy
  • Exercise therapy and personal training
  • Nutritional therapy

The DBT PHP Program at the Delray Center integrates the philosophy of Dialectical Behavior Therapy into all of our clinical services. At the Delray Center, patients learn to incorporate yoga, meditation, and physical fitness into their mindfulness and emotional regulation practices. In addition to explicit individual skills training and group skills therapy, every therapeutic group at the Delray Center is imbued with DBT skills and concepts. The Delray Center for Healing’s DBT PHP provides a high degree of structure, support, and accountability, perfect for those struggling with emotional dysregulation or self-destructive behaviors.

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) has become the clinical best-practice for treating a number of mental health conditions, such a Borderline Personality Disorder, suicidality, and non-suicidal self-harm. In addition, DBT has shown to be an effective treatment for many mood disorders, including Major Depressive Disorder, panic & anxiety disorders, Bipolar Disorder, and Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD). The Delray Center also utilizes DBT in the treatment of eating disorders, with or without other co-occurring mental health diagnoses.

Getting started in the DBT Program

All prospective patients for our DBT partial hospitalization program start by receiving a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation. Based on that initial assessment, our multidisciplinary DBT-trained treatment team will develop an individualized treatment plan for each client. Once enrolled in our PHP program, clients are assigned an DBT-trained primary therapist, a DBT skills coach, and a DBT-trained family therapist. Patient are also provided with a psychiatrist, nutritionist, and personal trainer.

The Delray Center DBT PHP runs through a minimum of two months, and gives our clients a strong foundation in Dialectical Behavior Therapy, as well as the structure not found in other outpatient DBT programs. After completing the program, patients may continue doing individual DBT skills training with their therapist, and can continue refining their skills in our adult or adolescent DBT Skills Group.
