Eating disorders are the most deadly of all mental illnesses, and among the most complex to treat. The Delray Center For Healing is dedicated to helping individuals and families struggling with these challenging illnesses. Moreover, we recognize that the journey to recovery is unique. Outpatient eating disorder treatment requires an integrated approach from a multi-disciplinary team of experienced professionals. As a result, our highly skilled professional team helps our clients recognize a healthy individual as having physical, mental, and spiritual well-being – not by body shape and size.
Certainly, there are many different types of eating disorders. And, their effects and symptoms are all unique. So, they require differing treatment. Some of the various eating disorders treated at Delray Center for Healing include:
Anorexia Nervosa: This type of eating disorder is more common in men than in women. It is classified by symptoms of restrictive eating, being underweight, low self-esteem, avoidance and fear of gaining weight, and a denial of being underweight.
Bulimia Nervosa: People diagnosed with this eating disorder experience a lifestyle of binging and purging behaviors. And, may feel that they cannot control the occurrence of these episodes.
Binge Eating Disorder: Symptoms of this disorder commonly include bingeing large amounts of food in short periods of time. And, pair with feelings of extreme guilt, shame, and remorse.

Finally, another way we integrate individuality is to offer supportive community outings to grocery stores, restaurants, and clothing stores. Thus, helping to prepare clients with important real-world skills.
